在2003年时，Rod Ladgrove 就在Brisbane布里斯班开始了自己的音乐生涯，做现场表演。他受披头士的影响，还在布里斯班皇后广场的商业街上演奏披头士的经典歌曲。
2005年，Rod开始把自己的目光倾注于国外，并开始在伦敦和纽约工作和生活，与此同时，他们开始寻找自己的音乐风格，并在伦敦相当有名气的Virtual Acoustic俱乐部及Notting Hill Gate演出，获得好评。Rod于2006年在澳洲阿德莱德发行了他的音乐作品，这张专集受这几年在外生活的经验启发。Rod的新歌还是走的民谣路线，同时包含现代风格。

在2008年时，他继续和他的乐队在阿德莱德当地进行商演，在Art Council拨款的支持下，他们在韦克菲尔德的Fat Trax 工作室录唱片。现在25岁的Rod Ladgrove带着他最新的一张专集 ──“最高理想”继续进行表演，还加入了The Eastwoods乐队。这几首新歌有了新的变化，展示了现代摇滚和吉他独奏声音的完美结合，同时保持了和以前专集‘Snapshots’里的有深刻意义的歌词标准。

BIOGRAPHY
In 2003, Rod Ladgrove began playing live music in Brisbane. Relying heavily on a back-catalogue of Beatles hits, Rod began by busking in Brisbane\'s Queen Street Mall.
However, in 2005 Rod based himself overseas. Whilst working and living his way through London and New York, Rod began to mould his style, taking in spots at London\'s acclaimed Virtual Acoustic Club and Notting Hill Gate.
Returning in 2006, Rod began releasing his work from a new hometown of Adelaide. Inspired heavily by the experiences and ‘aftermath’ of travel, Rod’s new songs worked as ‘stories’ in the folk tradition, whilst still maintaining a contemporary edge.
His first single, ‘Lonely Old People’, received nationwide airplay on ABC radio, and was nominated for the Q ‘Song of the Year’ award in the folk category. ‘Van Nguyen’, the story of an executed drug trafficker, received consistent play on the nationwide JJJ network, as did single ‘Ascot Park’. Rod followed up this success with a series of Sydney performances and folk festivals in 2006 and 2007, as well as playing at Adelaide venues such as the Grace Emily and Jade Monkey.
2008 was spent playing local gigs in Adelaide with his band and new ‘rock’ sound and recording at Fat Trax studios on Wakefield St with the help of an Arts Council grant.
Now, with the release of new album ‘High Ideals’, twenty-five year old Rod Ladgrove is taking to the road to perform his new tracks, accompanied by band ‘The Eastwoods’. The new tracks take a new direction, showcasing a fresh rock sound with smooth guitar solos, but still maintaining the same standard of insightful lyrics seen on ‘Snapshots’.

简 介：
变色蝴蝶（Proximity Butterfly）是一群老外组成的成都乐队，他们的音乐中混杂着Led Zeppelin的爆发力与繁复的艺术气息，Pink Floyd层层叠叠的迷幻色彩，The Mars Volta的激进节奏以及Jane\'s Addiction的空灵与婉转。他们是成都最好的乐队之一，多年的现场演出为他们累积了在西南与中南地区的超高人气。
乐队灵魂人物Joshua极富传奇色彩，他是美国人、诗人、音乐家、导演、哲学教师、国际援助志愿者，或许还有更多的身份。他在克利夫兰的录音棚工作了两年，积累了大量梦境般的艺术动机，却找不到人和他一起分享和创造。2002年，沉迷于哲学的Joshua对美国的生活感到厌倦，之后他来到墨西哥边境，在那里停留了很长的一段时间，随后毅然决定要去一个他向往已久的神秘国度——中国，在那里开始自己的理想。命运让Joshua在中国结识了他生命中最重要的人、乐队的贝司手，叫Heather的加拿大女孩。再后来，他遇到了来自德国的鼓手Timm，和更多来自世界各地、聚于中国的优秀音乐人，变色蝴蝶终于展开翅膀。
2006年，乐队独立发行了带有探路性质的唱片《Arcana》，接下来的多次巡演为乐队在很多城市赢得了大量的歌迷，他们开始频频现身于各大音乐节现场，许多国内外的优秀的音乐人都在关注他们并发出合作邀请。这些忙碌并没有磨灭变色蝴蝶的创作激情，两年的时间让他们沉淀了更多蓄势待发的优秀作品。2007年，变色蝴蝶与摩登天空旗下厂牌LUDI签约，人们都知道，与国内最不靠谱的独立厂牌LUDI签约是非常需要勇气的。经过数月的意外，推迟与等待，变色蝴蝶第二张专辑《Antikythera Mechanism》终于发行。

Proximity Butterfly is a highly philosophically charged project that began in Chengdu, China in the August of 2003. PB consists of a drummer, bassist, guitarist, saxophone/ clarinet/ trumpet and eyes like angels coming from Canada, Germany, France and America. The story of the band expresses the maturity that exists in its seriousness towards the human subject. "It becomes the conundrum of itself; that which brings her flight and being."
Joshua Love: "I left Cleveland with quite a large philosophical... dissatisfaction. I couldn’t really understand people, why they did what they did. Basically, people drank until they were blind, shot up, snorted whatever they could find, sucked down late night martinis and complained about their jobs being too hard or something... It showed me really what America had become... a place in need of a revitalized eye. I tried starting a newsletter and couldn’t seem to get anything musical going in that city. Everyone had a plan, but no one followed through with it. Seemed like the end of that life was about getting a job to buy things you needed to get a new job for... boat cruises and front lawns. A close friend of mine was pretty coked out all of the time and her house eventually became more trash and stains than anything else. She was still recovering from coming home to her previous boyfriend shooting himself in the face with a shotgun. The pill brigade was the direction everyone was going. So I went to California to breath..."
